How do the Women Succeed?
Each loan is always given to a team of 5 women who become responsible for each other success. This involves their personal business as well as the repayment of their loans. If one defaults, the others are responsible to ensure that the loan is repaid in full. They learn the value of mutual interdependence and community.
The women come together every week to share their stories and repay their loans. During this time, they meet with our staff who encourage and advice them in their plan and implementation.
We help them to develop self-esteem to see that they are capable of achieving success. In this way they learn to love themselves. They are also taught to love their neighbor by caring for those who have less than they do and to seek those things that are truly valuable.
They are taught how to use money and how to create and sell products that are meaningful, useful and beneficial. They are also taught how to manage their money with our 4 Key Values.
4 Key Values
Tithe and give to people in need.
Save 10% of their income.
Pay their debt (trust in the #1 capital).
Shop for only those things they really need.
The loans keep on giving and giving . . .
Each loan is paid back in 6 months which qualifies the borrower for a new loan of $200 and, after repayment, a final loan of $300
The interest paid and the administrative fee fully covers the operational costs. One staff effectively serves 400 borrowers.
After payback of the loan the $100 is available to be reinvested with another borrower.
